Kolkata : Celebrities-paparazzi and then fans & brands; the engagement between a celebrity and their fans has always been dictated by the paparazzi and their core circle. Fans are dependent on journalists to get a sneak peek in the lives of their favourite stars, but now a mobile application-based high-leverage content venture that goes by the name of ‘Celebfie’ is set to disrupt this age-old practice. Fans and brands would now have direct access to the celebrities and their exclusive content created by them.
In addition to Instagram and Facebook, celebrities had recently taken to TikTok to entertain and connect with their fans. With the government’s strategic decision to ban Chinese apps, it is now upon home-grown players to create and transform new celebrity engagement tools. Famed social media influencers and brands are seeking dynamic platforms to showcase content, and to connect with their loyal fan following. Now is the right time for celebrities to take their engagement with fans a notch higher.
Founder Raminder Singh said, “The idea of curating Celebfie emerged while I was organizing an educational event in Dubai and wanted to invite Indian celebrities. I realized that there was no organized platform to collaborate with celebrities and felt the need of a reliable ecosystem for such needs.” Raminder discussed the idea with his close friends Praveer and Vevek, who are now a part of the core team. Praveer is a seasoned Senior Technology Executive with over 20 years of industry experience. Vevek, a young and dynamic producer, is passionate about creating and promoting meaningful content that transforms as it entertains.
Addressing the need for a sophisticated, safe yet interactive platform allowing celebrities, brands and fans to come together; Celebfie is proving to be the most transparent and organized online platforms. It offers candid snippets and uncut insights, created by the celebs themselves. Further, celebrities can be relieved about safety concerns as Celebfie protects them from spam requests.
The app is available on both Apple and Android stores and is indeed an “ultimate fan experience”. It comes with a host of services including personalized videos and live-streaming content (soon to arrive) options for fans and followers. It allows brands to collaborate with celebrity influencers and maximize their market outreach, increase sales and conversion ratios. Expressing his views on growth plans, Raminder adds, “It is time for a dynamic platform to elevate the relationship between Indian fans and celebrities. We had started off as a bootstrapped venture, and now we are already seeing a lot of interest from potential investors towards the promising revenue and scaling prospective of the application. With Celebfie, we aim to significantly improve conversations around celebrity engagement and booking.” Unlike most other social engagement apps, Celebfie has a built-in revenue stream that allows it to grow without the need of sponsored ads or to reach enormously large numbers.
Being in a niche segment, Celebfie aims to break traditional barriers between celebrities, fans and brands. Forecasting the app's success, Technical and marketing experts believe that Celebfie will leave behind all popular platforms that facilitate celebrity social content consumption and shout-outs in India. Celebfie is indeed the future of fan engagement in India and internationally and is predicted to become the new favorite app of all celebrities including Bollywood actors, singers, sportspersons, and top social media influencers alike.
Raminder Singh, also known as Monty Alagh on social media, is a former US EdTech professional. He aims to bring about similar transformation in the entertainment and celebrity-engagement industry with Celebfie.
