Baduria: A three-day CIL Football Tournament 2026 concluded in Baduria on Sunday, with 24 teams competing in the men's and women's divisions.
Held from September 25 to 27, the tournament featured 16 men's teams and eight women's teams from the Basirhat Lok Sabha constituency.
The tournament was organised by SEVA with support from Coal India and local partner Atghara Bandhab Club.
Tournament convenor Toriqul Hasan said the initiative aimed to encourage young people to take part in sports and provide local players with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills.
SEVA head Anuradha Chatterjee said the participation of players and local residents was encouraging, with both men's and women's teams taking part in the three-day event.
The tournament drew local spectators over the three days, with organisers stressing the need for more opportunities for young players at the grassroots level.
