New Delhi : VSPB ASSOCIATES, an architecture, urban design, landscape, and planning firm based in Delhi, India, has been recognised among the 10 Outstanding Practices globally under the International Outstanding Practices on Urban Regeneration (IOPUR1) initiative jointly organised by UN-Habitat and Shanghai University.
The recognition was awarded for the project “Revitalisation of Derelict Urban Spaces: Bundh Rejuvenation Trail, Gurugram, India,” which focused on ecological restoration, public realm revitalisation, and regeneration of neglected urban landscapes.
The project was initiated by imGurgaon, supported by the Department of Forests, Government of Haryana, and implemented through collaborative CSR partnerships.
The recognition followed a rigorous multi-stage international evaluation involving 107 entries from 39 cities worldwide. Following technical review and jury evaluation, only 10 projects globally were selected as Outstanding Practices.
The award was presented at the World Urban Forum 13 in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 20 May 2026, and was received by Suptendu P. Biswas and Vina Biswas, partners of VSPB ASSOCIATES.
The recognition highlights the growing global relevance of Indian architectural and urban design practices in addressing contemporary urban challenges through collaborative, landscape-led, and ecologically grounded approaches to urban regeneration.
