BDM International, in association with the BDM International Alumni Association and BDMI Interact Club, with the support of Ruby General Hospital, organized a unique initiative “Wellness with Kindness” on 13th September 2025 at the Stepping Stone (P2) Building, BDMI campus. The day beautifully merged wellness, gratitude, and social responsibility.
The highlight of the initiative was a free health camp exclusively designed for teachers, former teachers, non-teaching staff, and school associates. A total of 117 participants underwent screenings that included BMI, blood sugar, blood pressure, pulse rate, and SpO2 monitoring. Along with the basic check-ups, expert consultations made the initiative truly impactful. Dietician Suchismita De guided participants on nutrition, Dr. Saurav Paul conducted pulmonary function tests, while Samapti Dhang carried out ECG examinations. The participants gained valuable advice on health, lifestyle, and diet.
Adding to the significance of the day, Ruby General Hospital launched its Coffee Table Book, chronicling 30 years of its journey in healthcare. Speaking at the occasion, Principal Madhumita Sengupta said, “This year, instead of our usual cultural programs, we opted for a health camp. Teachers often prioritize classes over their own health, and this initiative is a way to acknowledge their dedication and give back.”
The event also witnessed the formal launch of the Friends in Need – Priority Family Health Card, which will provide teachers and alumni members with 10–20% discounts on OPD consultations, indoor charges, diagnostics, and more at Ruby General Hospital. Simultaneously, the Old Clothes Collection Drive was inaugurated, scheduled from 13th to 19th September, with distribution planned for 21st September 2025.
The program was attended by Principal Madhumita Sengupta, Vice-Principal Komalika Bhowmick, Ms. Shibeta Samaddar (General Manager, Growth & Development, Ruby General Hospital), Mr. Amit Ray (Head of Marketing, Ruby General Hospital), Alumni Association President Shubhamoy Samanta, along with several Executive Committee members. The event was anchored by Avanti Acharya, Executive Committee member of the Alumni Association.
“Wellness with Kindness” not only promoted health awareness but also embodied the values of compassion and community service. With this thoughtful initiative, BDMI once again reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing both knowledge and humanity.
