The Senapatis is back for a second season with more bloodstained thrill



The wait is finally over. Addatimes returns with a season 2 of the blood-chilling story of The Senapatis and this time it comes with even bigger bangs, literally. The new season was premiered on the 22nd of February, in Five Mad Men, Kolkata; presenting the entire cast and crew and an official announcement of the trailer, along with a few excerpts from the show to get the suspense going.

Directed and scripted by Arnab Riingo Banerjee, this beautifully captured true story of the first gang lords of Kolkata from the 70s had already created a nationwide stir with the innovative and gripping narrative of its first season. The new season is right around the corner, coming on February 26th, and we can’t hold our breaths. The Senapati house gets even stronger in their stance now, collaborates with the Bombay underworld, takes over one of the most notorious criminal worlds – Bihar, and gets even more infamous with the Kolkata police. The new season brings the wraths, betrayals, and bloodsheds that follow these ambitious moves of this powerful family.

The new season comes with a fresh set of cast members of its own. Saoli Chattopadhyay, Pratik Dutta, Subhodip Bandyopadhyay, and many more newcomers as well as veteran Bengali actors have given outstanding performances to make this season exceptionally compelling and stimulating.

The complete Senapatis cast and crew ménage met with the press in Five Mad Men to celebrate the release of this exciting new season together. Dignitaries of the industry like Rituparna Sengupta, Chaiti Ghoshal, Chandreyee Ghosh attended the fiesta. After the announcement and presentation of the trailer and selected reels, everyone got into a full party mode. Appetizers and drinks were served and a congratulatory cake was cut. To add to the glamour of the festivity, the Bengali superstar and extremely charming Rituparna Sengupta visited the premises and gave her valuable feedback regarding the season post watching the trailer herself. With a full stomach of delectable dinner and a shower of drinks, the night ended with a blaze.
